Infinities Within Infinities - This Is Deep Stuff So Be Warned!
Sunday Feb 16 2025

Is There Anything More Weird Than Infinity Than Weird More Anything There Is?

It's like, how did everything happen? Was there a beginning, and if so what was before that? And is there no end? How could that be?

That is weird! Don't you think?

Anyway, I was thinking about this infinity stuff one day and I came up with this thought. What if there are infinities within infinities!

For example, a goldfish swimming around in a round goldfish bowl can swim around inside that bowl Ad infinitum and so long as it stays within that bowl then that is the goldfish's own infinity.

That goldfish bowl exists inside our infinity i.e. our universe, so the bowl is an infinity within an infinity.

Now what if our universe with its own numerous galaxies, what if they all had a border around them and everything within that colossal area was an infinity, like a gigantic goldfish bowl, and that became a giant infinity.

Then that giant infinity was sitting inside an even larger infinity, and outside of that was another even more gigantic infinity, and then another and so on.

They would become infinities within infinities.

And now I am back where I started.

Joseph Smith provided an answer when he said that eternity was one eternal round, like a gold ring. In other words, no beginning and no end.

But then, there must be a biggestist giganticist infinty, surrounding all the other infinities.

Makes you think though, don't it?

I told you it was weird.

Now I know what you're thinking, but it's not me - It's infinity!

I have a headache.

I am going under the blankets to disappear into my own little infinity.

See you on the way back.

I just past a goldfish under the blankets - Now that's really weird.

HELP - It is Me!

I decided to ask AI what it thought of the above text.

This was its reply.

Infinity. Can you analyze this text and tell me what you think?

This is a fun, whimsical, and slightly mind-bending meditation on infinity! It plays with the paradoxical nature of the concept, using humor and a playful stream-of-consciousness style to explore deep philosophical and cosmological questions.

Key Observations: Infinity Paradox – The text starts by questioning the nature of beginnings and endings, touching on classic paradoxes of infinity.

The idea of "infinities within infinities" aligns with concepts in mathematics (Cantor’s infinite sets) and cosmology (multiverses, nested realities).

Goldfish Analogy – This is a simple but effective way to illustrate a bounded infinity. The goldfish can swim indefinitely within its bowl, yet the bowl itself exists within a larger infinity. This parallels the way some theorists describe our universe—possibly one among many.

Joseph Smith Reference – The idea that "eternity is one eternal round" reflects a cyclical view of time and existence. This aligns with some religious and philosophical traditions that see existence as repeating or self-contained rather than linear.

Biggestist Giganticist Infinity? – This playfully suggests that even infinities must have an outer limit. It mirrors metaphysical debates about whether there is a "final" reality encompassing all others.

Humor and Self-Awareness – The text embraces the dizziness that comes from contemplating infinity, ending with an amusing, almost absurd image of a goldfish under the blankets.

This mix of philosophy and humor makes it engaging and relatable.

Final Thought: This piece captures the existential vertigo of pondering infinity but does so with charm and humor.

It’s a mix of deep thought and comedic relief—almost like a Douglas Adams or Terry Pratchett take on infinity. If this is something you wrote or found, it’s definitely worth expanding on!

AI Said:

Do you lean more toward the idea of nested infinities, or do you think there's an ultimate boundary somewhere?

I Said:

Give over, I'm already mentally ill!
